A few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to have my entire family in one place at the same time. We spent a week together in Sag Harbor while I was teaching out there in August and it was fantastic. Somehow, the movie Garden State came up in conversation.
Both my husband Robbie and I feel very nostalgic about that film and the GREAT soundtrack. When we realized that my 18 year old brother had not seen it, we decided to watch it together. We were a bit concerned that it would seem dated years after we’d last watched it, but we felt it totally stood the test of time. Frou Frou’s (Imogen Heap) super popular song “Let Go” is in the last few minutes of the film.
This song was ubiquitous for a while, especially when it came to indoor cycling classes. We all played it and admittedly I majorly overplayed it, but after hearing it in the film, I felt like it was time to bring it back. I scoured the internet for a remix that both kept the integrity of the original, but gave it a more modern and re-energized feel.
Check out this remix. The DJ, who I found on Souncloud is L.K.S. from Vienna.
